2009 MUNICIPAL ELECTION

Section 80 of the Local Authorities Elections Act states:
1. If a candidate disagrees with the results of the count of votes, the candidate may, within 72 hours of the close of the voting, apply in writing to the returning officer for a recount.
2. On receipt of a request for a recount by a candidate, the returning officer shall conduct a recount if the returning officer is satisfied that there are reasonable grounds for recounting the ballots.
Notice is hereby given to the voters of the City of Yellowknife that an election for Mayor, Councillors, Trustees for Yellowknife Education District No. 1, and Trustees for Yellowknife Catholic Schools is proposed to be held on Monday, October 19, 2009. Polls will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
