The Ruth Inch Memorial Pool was opened in 1988, and named after Ruth Inch, a volunteer in Figure Skating and Swimming in Yellowknife for many years.

Ruth Inch Memorial Pool Supervision
Pool supervisors and qualified lifeguards supervise at all swim times. In addition, however, our accident prevention policy requires that a responsible adult must accompany children six years of age or under into the water. That person must be appropriately dressed and must remain within arm's length of the child in the pool.
