Red Cross Babysitter and Peoplesavers

RED CROSS BABYSITTER COURSES
Babysitting is a great way to earn cash and learn new skills. Parents are interested in hiring babysitters who are certified to watch their children. Are you 11 years old or older and looking for a way to earn cash? Are you prepared for this important responsibility? This course will teach you how to: feed a baby, change a diaper, react in an emergency situation such as a fire and do basic first aid skills such as dealing with choking and burns.
Candidates will receive a Babysitter Manual . Candidates should bring paper, pen, snacks, drinks (no glass containers) and a lunch if they are not leaving for lunch. Lunch will be from 12p - 1p on dates when the course runs 9a-4p.This course is usually taught on the pool deck and is a dry course (no swimsuit required). Candidates who successfully complete the course including the written exam will receive a certificate.

RED CROSS PEOPLESAVERS COURSES

Peoplesavers is a 4 level program developed by the Canadian Red Cross to teach safety awareness and first aid skills to elementary school-aged children. Participants follow the Peoplesavers Character for each level through a variety of everyday situations that are potentially dangerous. Participants learn to check for safety, call for help and care for an injured person in each course. The lessons are planned in an age appropriate way so skills are more complex in the higher levels.
Candidates will receive a Peoplesavers Manual . Candidates should bring paper, pen, a snack and a drink (no glass containers).This course is usually taught on the pool deck and is a dry course (no swimsuit required). Candidates who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate.
