Spring Clean Up
POLICY
Community Services may award financial support to volunteer organizations and groups who participate in the annual Spring Clean Up in the City of Yellowknife.
ELIGIBILITY
Preference will be given to organizations that include the following:
1. The organization must be youth oriented.
2. Only organizations whose main focus includes sport, recreation, education or culture will be considered.
3. The organization must have a direct benefit to community life in the City of Yellowknife.
APPLICATION STIPULATIONS
1. The availability of financial assistance will be advertised to the community a minimum of one month prior to the deadline. Application forms are available from the City of Yellowknife.
2. Applications will be received once per year in March.
CRITERIA
Requests for a Spring Clean-up Service Contract will be assessed using the following criteria:
1. The applicant is a youth oriented, non-profit organization or group.
2. The applicant must demonstrate financial need.
3. Only one application per organization /team per year will be considered.
4. Funds will be divided equally amongst all eligible applicants.
5. The organization must enclose with their application a list of at least twenty (20) members that will participate in the clean up.
6. Only one division within an organization will be considered for a Cleanup Service Contract.
7. The organization must be Yellowknife based and not an N.W.T. branch.
8. An organization whose past service has been deemed inadequate may not be considered for future Spring Cleanup.
9. The organization must be in good financial standing with the City of Yellowknife.
