Building an Accessory Building

A Development Permit and a Building Permit are required for the construction of accessory buildings exceeding 10 square metres. A Building Permit may not be required for accessory buildings less than 20 square metres used for cold storage if verification is provided showing that the building will not be insulated, heated, or have electrical power.

When applying for your Development and Building Permits, please bring three copies of your drawings. The drawings shown here are examples and do not necessarily show all the details that may be required for your application.
