Large Item Pick Up
The 2013 Spring Clean Up is scheduled to take place during the week of May 13 to 17, 2013. During this week only, residents can have their large items collected by the City free of charge.Residents wishing to have items picked up must fill out a form which can be picked up from City Hall, on the City’s website, or filled in online and sent to admin@yellowknife.ca no later than Friday, May 10, 2013 by 12:00 p.m. (Noon). The City will not accept any requests made after this deadline.
The schedule is as follows:
| Monday: | Frame Lake South; |
| Tuesday: | Range Lake North, Northland Trailer Park areas; |
| Wednesday: | Central Business District, School Draw, Forrest Drive, Taylor Road, Matonabee Street, Rycon Drive and Con Road areas; |
| Thursday: | Old Town, Latham Island, and Niven Lake areas. |
The City does not do individual pick ups in Ndilo. For more information, please contact Stephen Folkers at 920-4403.
Please note the following restrictions:
NO CATEGORY I – TIPPING FEE ITEMS with applicable tipping fees will NOT be picked up, such as: fridges, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, hot water tanks, cars, tires and residential construction waste.
NO CATEGORY II – HAZARDOUS WASTE ITEMS will NOT be picked up, such as: batteries, paints, solvents, oils, chemicals, oil tanks, animal waste, small engines/motors, propane tanks & motor bikes.
NO CATEGORY III – RECYCLABLE ITEMS will NOT be picked up, such as: cardboard, glass, newspaper and grass clippings, yard waste and brush.

Amnesty Week
For residential drop off only, will take place from May 18 - 24, 2013. Amnesty Week will waive the $9.00 fee at the Solid Waste Facility but other tipping fees and 2-bag limit for curbside collection still apply.
Household Hazardous Waste
The City of Yellowknife in partnership with Environment and Natural Resources is pleased to bring you a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, May 18, 2013. This will be held at the Solid Waste Facility NOT the Community Arena Parking lot between 12:00 Noon to 4:00 p.m.
