Emergency Preparedness
Would you be ready if there were an emergency?
Know the Risks:
Knowing the risks can help you better prepare. The risks in Yellowknife and the Northwest Territories range from power outages in the winter to wildfires in the summer.
Make a Plan:
Every Canadian household can use an emergency plan. It will help you and your family know what to do if disaster strikes. Make your own plan or visit the link below to get you started.
Get a Kit:
Find out what goes into an emergency kit, or where you can buy one. An emergency kit helps ensure that you and your family are ready to cope on your own for at least the first 72 hours of an emergency (Items include things such as water, food, flashlights and first aid kits).
Be Prepared:
Assemble an emergency supply kit, make your emergency plans, stay informed, and be involved in keeping your family, your business, and your community ready for an emergency. Read a copy of “ Your Emergency Preparedness Guide ”.
