Here's what you need to know.....
The City of Yellowknife recruits individuals possessing well-developed public relation skills and sound knowledge of law enforcement to assume the position of Municipal Enforcement Officer.
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Municipal Enforcement, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting vehicle and foot patrols of the city; issuing traffic violations and appearance notices; ensuring compliance with the Highway Traffic By-law and the NWT Motor Vehicles Act; serving court documents; performing traffic control; and ensuring compliance with the City By-laws, including Dog By-law, Noise By-law and Garbage By-law. This position involves shift work.
Qualified applicants must possess a two year Law Enforcement Diploma or a minimum of two years law enforcement experience. A valid Driver’s Licence, Standard First Aid and CPR Certificates are required. Preference may be given to persons certified in the use of RADAR and LIDAR. Self defence training, previous traffic enforcement experience and a certificate in EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) are also all desirable assets. Applicants are required to submit a Driver’s Abstract with their resume and will be subject to a Criminal Records Check.
