The City of Yellowknife advises residents and visitors that updated parking meter rates will take effect on May 1, 2026, following City Council's approval in December 2025. These changes are part of an amendment to Fees and Charges By-law No. 4436 and apply to all parking meters across the city. What’s changing:

Parking meter rates will increase across all meter types
Nickels (5 cents) will no longer be accepted at 1- and 2-hour parking meters
