Opening Ceremonies


Join the Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN), the City of Yellowknife, and Government of the Northwest Territories as we open the week’s events and honour the land of the Yellowknives Dene, Chief Drygeese Traditional Territory.  Emcee Lawrence Nayally will guide us through the afternoon as we open with a traditional prayer song and dance and hear about the legends behind Naka.

Here's what you can expect at the opening ceremony.  Please note that times are approximate.

Summer Hours effective following the Victoria Day Weekend
