Effective Monday, May 17, 2021 the City of Yellowknife (the City) reopened facilities and resumed programs and services for all ages. These changes followed the decision of the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO) to remove the temporary COVID-19 restrictions put in place for schools and after-school activities in Yellowknife and the increased availability of City staff who will have completed self-isolation related to the recent outbreak.

Masks or facial coverings are mandatory on Yellowknife Public Transit, and in all indoor City facilities as mandated by the OCPHO. Screening, physical distancing and capacity restrictions remain in place. For the latest City information on COVID-19, visit
