The City of Yellowknife kicked off the holiday season by hosting the annual Santa Claus Parade on November 26, 2022, with this year’s theme celebrating what the true essence of Christmas is in Yellowknife.

More than 30 community floats from non-profit, commercial, and government organizations met near City Hall, ready to make their way down Franklin Avenue. The Mayor and Councillors joined in the parade festivities by judging this year’s float competition. Three winners were announced last week and were visited by the Mayor to get their prize!

1st place: Great Slave Helicopters;

2nd place: Aurora Ford;

3rd place: Stanton Territorial Hospital.

The City is thrilled with the amount of Yellowknifers who came out to enjoy this year’s parade, and thanks all the volunteers, attendees, and participants who made it possible.
