Updates to City Facilities and Programs effective Monday, May 17th 2021:

The City of Yellowknife (the City) will reopen facilities and resume programs and services for all ages beginning Monday, May 17, 2021. These changes follow the decision of the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO) to remove the temporary COVID-19 restrictions put in place for schools and after-school activities in Yellowknife and the increased availability of City staff who will have completed self-isolation related to the recent outbreak.

Masks or facial coverings are mandatory on Yellowknife Public Transit, and in all indoor City facilities as mandated by the OCPHO. Screening, physical distancing and capacity restrictions remain in place. For the latest City information on COVID-19, visit www.yellowknife.ca/covid-19.

The City reminds residents that City facilities will be closed or may operate with reduced hours on Monday, May 24, 2021, due to the Statutory Holiday. For the latest City facility schedules, visit the respective page below.

Liquor Permission

If you wish to serve alcohol when renting a City facility, you must obtain permission from the City prior to applying for a liquor license.  Please complete and submit the Liquor Permission Agreement form to admin@yellowknife.ca.  You must also include a layout of your event (tables, staging, chairs, bar, etc.) with your submission.

Please visit the Liquor Permission page for further information regarding serving alcohol when renting a City facility.

In addition to the facilities listed above, the City also owns and/or operates:
