Prior to commencing a blast, blasting companies are required to notify the appropriate authorities, including the City's Fire Division, Municipal Enforcement Division and Department of Public Works and Engineering. It should be noted that blasting is often dependent upon weather and site specific conditions which may cause delays in the blasting schedule.
