Tentative Agreement Reached with Union

After last minute negotiations throughout the morning of October 3, 2025, the City of Yellowknife (the City) and PSAC Local X0345, representing Municipal Enforcement Officers (the Union), have reached a tentative agreement to end the targeted job action set to commence on October 6, 2025.
The terms of the agreement cannot yet be shared, and a media blackout will continue until Union members ratify the agreement.
The City will provide further information as soon as possible.

Pumpkin Lane 2025

The City of Yellowknife is pleased to welcome the return of Pumpkin Lane this autumn.
This much-loved annual event invites residents to celebrate the Halloween season by contributing to a glowing display of creatively carved pumpkins.
Pumpkin Lane will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, and Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. along the McMahon Frame Lake Trail, near the Jumpstart Accessible Playground.

Impact of Canada Post Strike on City Services

As of September 25, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has launched a national strike. Canada Post has stated that mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and no new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.
