Please provide the following information:
- Reference to the official website link of the organization requesting the flag raising;
- The proposed date, time and duration of the flag raising;
- The purpose of the flag raising, including why the event/issue is of importance to the City of Yellowknife;
- The name, telephone number and email address of the contact person for further information; and
- A photograph and the name of the flag.
For further details, please refer to the Flags and Proclamations Policy effective January 11, 2021.
* Please allow for a minimum of 10 business days to process requests for flag raisings.
** Please note that flag raising requests will be considered on a first-come, first served basis. An individual or organization does not have exclusive rights to the day, week or month of their request. Flag raising requests must be made on an annual basis.

- Length of time the person requesting the letter has been a resident of Yellowknife;
- Contact information for the person requesting the letter confirming residency; and
- Indicate in what capacity you know the Mayor.
* Please allow for up to 5 business days to process requests for letters confirming residency. Also note, depending on the situation, a letter confirming residency from the Mayor may not be possible.
** If applying for a scholarship or grant from the Yellowknife Community Foundation, please contact info@yellowknifecommunityfoundation.ca or call 867-446-4527 to verify the various acceptable methods of confirming residency.

Letters of support should be drafted by the organization requesting support, as this helps ensure accomplishments and goals are appropriately represented. When requesting a letter of support, organizations should include a draft letter or request a template from admin@yellowknife.ca.
