At a Special Council meeting on Monday, May 5, 2025, Yellowknife City Council addressed the vacancy created by Mayor Rebecca Alty’s April 29 resignation following her election as Member of Parliament for the Northwest Territories.

Spring Large Item Pick-Up

The City of Yellowknife’s 2025 Spring Large Item Pick-Up will take place from Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 16, 2025, offering residents free curbside collection of eligible large household items. This program is available to households that receive regular Curbside Cart collection services.
