This Orientation Guide is is intended to be used as a guide and working tool for committee chairs, vice chairs, members and staff.

Council Procedure By-law

The rules of procedure for Council (Council Procedure By-law No. 4250) shall apply to all standing committees.

Committee Vacancies

The following positions are currently available:

Board of Revision

The City of Yellowknife is looking for citizens to sit on its Board of Revision, a body established by statute to hear Yellowknife property assessment appeals, and scheduled to sit on April 6 and 7, 2017. The City welcomes applications from all interested persons, however, those with a background or understanding of the basic process of property assessment and an understanding of how to conduct a hearing effectively to reach appropriate decisions are particularly encouraged to apply.

Community Energy Planning Committee

The City is currently accepting applications for a member at large to serve on the Community Energy Planning Committee (CEP). The purpose of the CEP Committee is to ensure the Community Energy Plan evolves with advances in technology and best practices.
