This Orientation Guide is is intended to be used as a guide and working tool for committee chairs, vice chairs, members and staff.

Council Procedure By-law

The rules of procedure for Council (Council Procedure By-law No. 4250) shall apply to all standing committees.

Committee Vacancies

The following positions are currently available.

Audit Commitee

The City of Yellowknife is currently seeking volunteers to fill a vacancy for a lawyer on its Audit Committee. The Audit Committee makes recommendations to City Council in all matters pertaining to the financial reporting process.  The Audit Committee meets on a quarterly basis. Individuals should apply online or submit a Letter of Application, explaining their interest in serving on the Audit Committee, to the City Clerk, City of Yellowknife, City Hall, Yellowknife, NT, fax 920-5649; or email cityclerk@yellowknife.ca.

Development Appeal Board

The City of Yellowknife is seeking individuals to fill vacancies on its Development Appeal Board: an administrative tribunal which hears appeals by persons claiming to be affected by specific decisions made by the Development Officer. The City welcomes applications from all interested persons, however, those with a background or training in municipal planning or land administration are particularly encouraged to apply.

Individuals should apply online or submit a Letter of Application, explaining their interest in serving on the Development Appeal Board, to the City Clerk at Yellowknife City Hall, P.O. Box 580, Yellowknife, NT, X1A 2N4; fax 920-5649; or cityclerk@yellowknife.ca.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2018.

Grant Review
The City is currently accepting applications for members at large to serve on the Grant Review Committee.  This advisory committee reviews all applications and makes recommendations to Council regarding the distribution of Grant Funding.

Individuals should apply online at www.yellowknife.ca or submit a Letter of Application to the City Clerk at Yellowknife City Hall; fax 920-5649; or email cityclerk@yellowknife.ca.  The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, May 25, 2018.
