51 Avenue Toboggan Hill Closure

The City of Yellowknife wishes to advise residents that effective Friday, April 10, 2024, the recreational toboggan hill at 51 Avenue between 55 and 54 Streets will be closed for the season.

Please use caution and obey signage while heavy machinery removes the snow from 51 Avenue. Residents can expect the street to be back open to vehicular traffic by 4:00 p.m. For further information, please contact the City at 920-5600.

New Yellowknife Transit Fleet Arrives

The City of Yellowknife, together with Transdev, are pleased to announce the launch of the new Yellowknife Transit Fleet, comprising of eight accessible buses. These buses will soon begin to be incorporated into routes as the City transitions to the new fleet. Residents are invited to provide online feedback for the After Action Assessment of the City of Yellowknife’s 2023 Wildfire response through a survey from March 25 to April 12, 2024, on the City’s PlaceSpeak page.

The City of Yellowknife has contracted Triage Metrix consulting group to conduct an evaluation of the Yellowknife Street Outreach Program. This program, currently operated by the Yellowknife Women’s Society, provides transportation and basic necessities for Yellowknife’s street-involved population.
