Grace Lake South Ballot Draw - Land For Sale

On Thursday, May 4, 2023, the City of Yellowknife will hold a ballot draw for two lots of land in the Grace Lake South Residential Subdivisions.

The City holds ballot draws to ensure potential purchasers have a fair chance at obtaining developable residential parcels. This sale of two residential lots in the Grace Lake South subdivision will provide opportunities for residential development. The City of Yellowknife reminds residents that deliberately abandoning waste on public or private property like garbage, mattresses, furniture, appliances, construction materials and tires, is considered illegal dumping.

Spring Clean-Up Applications

With warmer weather on the horizon and the return of longer days, the City of Yellowknife is once again offering Spring Clean-Up service contracts to non-profit organizations. This long-running program offers $550 to community groups to clean-up an assigned area in the city after the spring snowmelt.

City of Yellowknife Easter Events

The City of Yellowknife is excited to invite the public to two free events over the Easter long weekend. 

Residents are welcome to join the Easter Swim on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool. This event will have a maximum of 180 people.

Residents can also attend the Easter Skate on Sunday, April 9, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Shorty Brown Arena in the Multiplex. A maximum of 75 people are allowed on the rink.

Changes to 10-digit dialing in Yellowknife

The City of Yellowknife would like to make residents aware of how the transition to 10-digit dialing will affect their experience with City services. 

As of April 1, 2023, residents in Yellowknife have to dial 10-digits when calling another number in the City. Residents who have not transitioned to using 9-1-1 as their primary emergency number and continue to dial 873-2222 for access to City emergency services will be impacted.
