Motor Vehicle Accident on Highway 3

On July 31, 2025, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) requested the Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) to respond to a motor vehicle incident on Highway 3 involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial truck.

The City of Yellowknife is revising its Business License application forms to ensure a more coordinated and thorough cross-departmental review process. These updates incorporate input from relevant City departments to ensure all necessary considerations are addressed before a license is issued.

On Monday, July 21, 2025, shortly after midnight, the Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) responded to a reported fire behind Sir John Franklin High School.
