In celebration of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN) Spring Carnival, the City of Yellowknife is pleased to announce that a half-day civic holiday has been declared for Friday, April 4, 2025.

By-law No. 5103, which received Third Reading at the March 10, 2025, City Council meeting, was passed to provide residents with the opportunity to participate in the festivities of the YKDFN Spring Carnival. 2023 Santa Claus Parade Winners

This past Saturday, community members got into the holiday spirit as they gathered on the streets of Yellowknife to watch the Santa Claus Parade. Every year, the participating organizations that spread the most cheer win a prize. This year’s theme was “Yellowknife Strong” and with 23 fantastic floats, the judges had their work cut out for them. After some deliberation, the City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Santa Claus Parade:
