Residents rely on City facilities every day, from visiting the library to accessing services. As Yellowknife continues to grow, the City is asking for input on how these facilities are working and how they can best support the community.

The City is reviewing how key facilities are used today and how they can best meet community needs. This includes City Hall, the Public Library, the Visitor Centre, the Wildcat Café, the Mine Training Building, and the former Ruth Inch Memorial Pool.

Whether you use these facilities often, occasionally, or not at all, your input will help identify what’s working, what’s not, and what could be improved.

“Yellowknife is experiencing real growth and evolution, and this is the right time to take a closer look at how our City facilities serve residents,” says Mayor Ben Hendriksen. “This study is about ensuring our facilities reflect how people live, connect, and access services today, while planning responsibly for the future. Hearing directly from the community will help us make thoughtful decisions that support a strong and vibrant Yellowknife.”

This is the first phase of engagement, focused on gathering input to help shape future options for these facilities. A second phase will follow, where residents can review and provide feedback on proposed options. Final decisions will be made by the City Council.

Residents can share their input in several ways:
