Local businesses and organizations across Yellowknife are invited to participate in a collaborative brainstorming session to discuss strategies for enhancing public and employee safety, promoting economic activity, and strengthening the overall business environment.

The session will be held on Tuesday, June 10, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

Organized in collaboration with the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce, this working session will bring together business owners and community stakeholders to share perspectives and explore practical ideas that can contribute to a more supportive, resilient local economy. While downtown will be a central focus, given its role in Yellowknife’s commercial life, the session will also reflect broader challenges and opportunities affecting businesses throughout the city.

“For many local businesses, daily realities shape how we serve customers, support staff, and stay resilient. This is a valuable opportunity to engage openly with other business stakeholders about what’s working, what’s not, and what’s needed to foster a stronger, more supportive environment,” says Mark Henry, President of the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce.

“Strengthening Yellowknife’s economy means understanding the real challenges faced by businesses across the city. This session offers a chance to listen and collaborate on ideas that support growth, improve safety, and build long-term confidence,” says Mayor Ben Hendriksen, City of Yellowknife.

All local businesses and organizations are encouraged to attend and participate in this important conversation. Register today!
