The City of Yellowknife is encouraging residents and community partners to attend an upcoming public Town Hall hosted by the Department of National Defence (DND) to learn more about major federal investments being planned in the North.
As part of these discussions, DND will also be presenting to the City of Yellowknife’s Special Governance and Priorities Committee (GPC) on Monday, April 20, 2026. The meeting will be livestreamed through the City’s website and will provide an opportunity to hear an overview of the proposed investments and their broader context.
The Town Hall on April 23 will build on this by offering community members the opportunity to ask questions, hear directly from DND representatives, and better understand what these investments could mean for Yellowknife.
Given the significant national investment under consideration, the City recognizes the importance of ensuring residents are informed and have the opportunity to engage.
The City encourages interested Yellowknife residents and members of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation, the North Slave Métis Alliance, and the Tłı̨chǫ Government to attend and take part in the conversation.
