Applications for the City of Yellowknife’s 2026 Community Grant Funding Program and Heritage Committee Grant Program are now open. The application deadline for all grants is Monday, 19 January 2026, at 12:00 p.m.

The Community Grant Program includes the following 3 categories:
- Community Service Grants
- Multi-Year Grants
- Sponsorship Grants

These grants are intended for non-profit, community organizations that deliver events, projects, or programs that align with the Council’s Strategic Directions. Projects must demonstrate a clear community impact and respond to local needs. Applications are reviewed by the Grant Review Committee in accordance with the Grant Funding Policy.
The Heritage Committee Grant Program consists of 1 category, and it supports Yellowknife-based individuals, groups, partnerships, or business entities undertaking projects that celebrate, promote, and preserve Yellowknife’s heritage. The Heritage Committee may award grants up to $5,000 per proposal. Requests exceeding $5,000 require Council approval. The maximum award available per project is $10,000.

Note:
Applicants may only apply for one grant per calendar year, and the final report requirement applies to all accepted grant applications. All applications must be submitted online. Public computers with internet access are available at the Yellowknife Public Library.

Special Reminder:
Final reporting, inclusive of all up-to-date revenues, expenditures, and records of fund usage, must be submitted by the specified deadlines listed in the program terms. Failure to provide a complete and timely final report will render the entity ineligible for the next round of the grant applications.
