As of September 25, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has launched a national strike. Canada Post has stated that mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and no new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.

The following areas may experience changes or adjustments due to the postal strike:

Interlibrary Loan and Book Ordering

Interlibrary loans across the NWT are temporarily paused until the current strike is resolved. Additionally, book orders for the Yellowknife Public Library may experience delays if Canada Post is the selected courier.
