Back to SearchThe City of Yellowknife reminds residents that property taxes can be paid through pre-authorized monthly payments. Signing up for automatic payments helps ensure no interest is incurred on late payments. The enrollment deadlines for pre-authorized monthly payments are January 15 and July 15 each year.
To sign up for pre-authorized payments, submit the completed pre-authorization form, along with a void cheque, to the City of Yellowknife in one of the following ways:
- By email to taxation@yellowknife.ca;
- By fax to 867-920-5649 (no cover sheet is required);
- By mail with a cheque to PO Box 580, Yellowknife, NT, X1A 2N4;
- In-person drop off at City Hall; or
- Instead of submitting the form, residents can also sign up for pre-authorized payments by calling the City at (867) 920-5625.
Please note that to enroll in pre-authorized payments, your property tax account must be fully paid, including any overdue utility charges that have been transferred to your tax account
Please also ensure your property tax and utility payments are made by the due date to avoid interest charges. Each year on December 31, any overdue utility charges will be added to the property owner’s tax account. Unpaid property taxes and utility charges after the due date will incur interest at 1.8% per month until the balance is paid in full.
