CITY HOSTS CANADA DAY CELEBRATIONS
YELLOWKNIFE, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES | JUNE 26, 2015
The City of Yellowknife is hosting Canada Day Celebrations at Somba K’e Civic Plaza on July 1, 2015 from 12:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Celebrations will kick off with musical entertainment by Miranda Currie at the amphitheatre and Jonathan Churcher on the lawn and will be followed by opening remarks by Mayor Mark Heyck, Premier Bob McLeod and MP Dennis Bevington. MCs Kirianne Ashley and Camille Rourke will provide bilingual entertainment in English and French throughout the afternoon. Additional entertainment and activities will be provided by Bella Dance, the Taoist Tai Chi Society, the Bush Chords, Cirque Grandiose, Frozen Fingered Magicians, NWT Literacy Council and more. “Celebrating our country is a great reason to bring our community together,” said Mayor Mark Heyck. “Thanks to the involvement of our talented residents and dedicated community groups, this Canada Day promises to be a memorable one.”
In the event of rain, Canada Day Celebrations will be moved indoors to the Shorty Brown Arena at the Multiplex.

La Ville de Yellowknife célèbrera la fête du Canada le premier juillet 2015, de 12h00 à 3h30, au parc Somba K’e.
Les festivités débuteront avec la musique de Miranda Currie à l’amphithéâtre ainsi que de Jonathan Churcher sur l’espace vert. Ils seront suivis par quelques mots du maire de Yellowknife Mark Heyck, du premier ministre Bob McLeod et du député Dennis Bevington. Les maitres de cérémonies Kirianne Ashley et Camille Rourke animeront l’évènement bilingue, en Français et en Anglais durant cet après-midi. Plusieurs autres activités et divertissements seront offerts par Bella Dance, la Taoist Tai Chi Society, les Bush Chords, Cirque Grandiose, Frozen Fingered Magicians, le NWT Literacy Council et plusieurs autres. En cas de pluie, les festivités seront déplacées à la patinoire Shorty Brown au Multiplex.
