The City of Yellowknife is pleased to welcome the return of Pumpkin Lane this autumn.
This much-loved annual event invites residents to celebrate the Halloween season by contributing to a glowing display of creatively carved pumpkins.
Pumpkin Lane will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, and Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. along the McMahon Frame Lake Trail, near the Jumpstart Accessible Playground.

The City of Yellowknife is pleased to announce that the Yellowknife Visitor Centre has welcomed its 100,000th visitor on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, since opening at its downtown location in the Centre Square Mall on September 12, 2022.

Impact of Canada Post Strike on City Services

As of September 25, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has launched a national strike. Canada Post has stated that mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and no new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.

On Thursday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m., the City of Yellowknife (the City) will be hosting a ballot draw for the sale of residential lots in the Gitzel, Grace Lake South, and Niven Lake subdivisions. The draw will take place in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
The City holds ballot draws to ensure potential purchasers have a fair chance at obtaining developable residential lots. The sale of these lots will provide opportunities for residential development.
