With warmer weather on the horizon and the return of longer days, the City of Yellowknife (the City) is once again offering Spring Clean-Up service contracts to non-profit organizations. This long-running program offers $550 to community groups to clean-up an assigned area in the city after the spring snowmelt.

The City of Yellowknife (the City) has implemented changes to the proof of vaccine requirements and capacity restrictions, in accordance with the Government of the Northwest Territories Office of the Chief Public Health Officer’s (OCPHO) recent announcement that as of March 1, 2022, gathering restrictions and the Proof of Vaccine Program for businesses will no longer be in effect.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022, the City of Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) received a call to service for a vehicle on fire at the Yellowknife Courthouse.
On arrival, a vehicle was noted to be burning. YKFD extinguished the fire and was on the scene for approximately one hour. No injuries, and limited damage, was reported.
