Heritage Committee grants are awarded to Yellowknife-based individuals, groups, partnerships or business entities to promote, celebrate and enhance Yellowknife’s rich heritage; or leave a legacy of Yellowknife heritage for future generations through various forms of presentation. The Heritage Committee may grant up to $5,000 for a proposal, whereas any request exceeding $5,000 must receive Council approval. The maximum grant amount that can be awarded for a given project is $10,000.

Final Report

All recipients of Heritage Committee grants must submit a final report for grant funding by December 15 of the year the grant was awarded, or within 60 (sixty) days of the event, program or project's end. The final report must consist of a summary of the project completed, photos or materials used for media ads and expenditures. Unlike Community grants, there is no specific format or template for this report.

Please direct all inquiries related to the Heritage Committee Program to the Planning and Development Department at (867) 920-5622 or @email.
