At 8:06 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017, the City of Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) was dispatched to the Explorer Hotel for a report of fire alarm activation. The Fire Division responded with a Quint (pumper/aerial), an ambulance and a duty crew of five personnel.

At approximately 9:49 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, the City of Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) received a report of a structure fire at 663 Williams Avenue with an occupant located on the exterior deck.
