Grab your bikes and helmets and join us for one of Yellowknife’s favourite family traditions!
The City of Yellowknife’s Municipal Enforcement Division (MED) is excited to welcome children from Kindergarten to Grade 6, along with their parents and guardians, to the 38th Annual Bike Rodeo on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Yellowknife Multiplex.
For years, the Bike Rodeo has brought families together for an afternoon focused on bike safety, confidence-building, and community connection, all in a fun, welcoming environment designed just for kids.
Throughout the day, participants can explore interactive activity stations and enjoy:
- A bike obstacle course to practice riding skills and confidence
- Bicycle tune-ups and safety checks
- Helmet fittings and bike safety education
- Family-friendly games and activities
- Food, prizes, and giveaways thanks to the generous support of local sponsors
Whether your child is just learning to ride or already speeding around the neighbourhood, the Bike Rodeo is a chance to learn important safety skills, meet local responders, and enjoy an active afternoon with family and friends.
“The Bike Rodeo is one of the most exciting community events hosted by the Municipal Enforcement Division. It gives our members the opportunity to connect directly with youth and families through hands-on learning, helping participants better understand bicycle safety and rules of the road while building positive relationships within our community.”— Sgt. Brennen Osburn, Manager, Municipal Enforcement Division
The Bike Rodeo continues to promote safe cycling habits, active transportation, and positive community engagement for young riders and their families.
