The City of Yellowknife is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Arns as the new Fire Chief, effective September 15, 2025. This appointment follows a rigorous, multi-stage national recruitment process to fill the position, which has been vacant since April 2025.

Jason Arns brings over two decades of experience in fire services, emergency management, and public safety, having served in leadership roles across Canada in both urban, and rural settings and will be responsible for leading the Yellowknife Fire Division into a new era of operational excellence.
