The City of Yellowknife invites residents of Yellowknife, N’Dilo, and Dettah to participate in two community workshops exploring the future of gold mining in the Yellowknife area.
Facilitated by Det’on Cho Environmental, the Modern Gold Mining workshops will be held in Yellowknife and Dettah. The workshops will bring together community members, Elders, Indigenous governments, regulators, industry representatives, and local leaders to share knowledge about mining practices today, what improvements have occurred, and what concerns remain. Participants will hear from experts, reflect on historical context, and examine what responsible gold mining practices entail. Note that both sessions will follow the same format.
