Residents and visitors are invited to join the City of Yellowknife and the Yellowknives Dene First Nation for the ceremonial unveiling of Wıı̀lıı̀deh Avenue.
The ceremony offers an opportunity to witness an important community milestone, learn more about the meaning and significance of Wıı̀lıı̀deh, and recognize the partnership and relationships that helped bring the renaming forward. Whether you are curious about the history behind the name, interested in learning more about the community we share, or simply want to be part of this historic moment, all are welcome to attend.
The event will include remarks from Yellowknives Dene First Nation leadership and City of Yellowknife representatives, a drum dance, and the unveiling of the new street sign.
