Fraudulent Parking Ticket Texts

Monday, October 20, 2025
This sculpture, created in 2009 by Yellowknife artist Francois Thibault depicts three drum dancers. It is located at the edge of Frame Lake in front of Yellowknife's City Hall.

The City of Yellowknife (the City) wishes to advise the public of fraudulent text messages currently being sent to residents regarding parking tickets.

Members of the public have reported being sent text messages that advise they have unpaid parking tickets which must be paid.  These text messages are not being sent from the City, as information from the City regarding enforcement matters would never be communicated in this manner. Residents are advised not to click links from unknown senders and not provide personal information to sources that may be illegitimate.

The City recommends contacting the Municipal Enforcement Division (MED) with any parking or enforcement questions. To get in touch with MED, call (867) 920-5630, send an email to @email or visit City Hall.
