Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the City of Yellowknife will hold a special meeting of the Governance and Priorities Committee at 12:00 p.m. on July 22, 2026, in the City Hall Council Chamber.
The purpose of this special meeting is to discuss a memorandum regarding:
- Whether to:
- Adopt By-law No. XXXX, being a by-law to enable the Major Projects and Opportunities Directorate; and
- Confirm creation of a Deputy City Manager role, and
- Confirm the permanent establishment of the Director, Governance and Corporate Services position;
- 2025 Annual Local Spending Report as required by the Local Procurement Policy;
- Whether to confirm the City’s interests and potential level of participation in the future bid to host the 2035 Canada Winter Games; and
- A legal matter.
This Special Meeting has been called by the City Manager of the City of Yellowknife pursuant to Section 27 of the Cities, Towns and Villages Act of the Northwest Territories and Section 120 of By-law No. 5119, the Council Procedures By-law.
