Garbage and Compost Bins

The City of Yellowknife has implemented a two-cart waste system for single family dwellings in residential areas. Your regular monthly garbage levy includes a black cart for garbage pick-up and a green one for compost. Pick up alternates each week between garbage and compost.

The City of Yellowknife is excited to promote green initiatives. We encourage all residents to take advantage of our eSend utility billing option. Using eSend means you will receive your utility bill as a PDF attachment by email. eSend is faster and more efficient than traditional paper billing.

All new accounts are charged a one time set up fee of $47.25. We have discounted this account set up fee to $33.00 for residents that choose the eSend option.
