Yellowknife Fire Ban Active
Effective today, at 12:00 p.m. on June 29, 2026, the City of Yellowknife has implemented a fire ban due to ongoing hot, dry conditions.
The fire ban prohibits all open-air burning within city limits, including the use of approved fire pits and will remain in effect until further notice.
Note: CSA-approved devices are still permitted (certified safe equipment), including camp stoves, enclosed BBQs, and propane heaters.
