This sculpture, created in 2009 by Yellowknife artist Francois Thibault depicts three drum dancers. It is located at the edge of Frame Lake in front of Yellowknife's City Hall.

Spring cleaning season is here, and the City of Yellowknife is once again offering residents an opportunity to dispose of large household items free of charge during Spring Large Item Pick-Up Week.

Large Item Pick-Up will take place from June 8 to 12, 2026, for households that receive regular Curbside Cart collection service.

To help City crews plan efficient collection routes and provide timely service, residents wishing to participate are asked to complete the Large Item Pick-up 2026 Form and submit it in advance by emailing @email or delivering it to the Customer Service Desk at City Hall.

Approved items for pickup may include bulky household items such as couches, bed frames, headboards, some furniture, bicycles, and barbecues without propane tanks. Not all items are accepted through the program, and residents are encouraged to review the full list of accepted and non-accepted materials before submitting their form.

For program details, a full list of approved and non-approved materials, and to download the form, visit the City of Yellowknife website.
