The City of Yellowknife is proposing to create a new Area Development Plan (ADP) for the area West of Enterprise Drive, and is looking for resident feedback. The plan area is bounded by Enterprise Drive to the northeast, Grace Lake Boulevard to the south, and Commissioner’s Land (part of the Interim land Withdrawal) to the west.
The Project
Kam Lake is one of Yellowknife’s key employment and business areas, with a primary focus on production and sale of goods, warehouses, showrooms and outdoor storage. The existing Kam Lake area has shifted over time from a traditional industrial area to an area with commercial, agricultural, light industrial and public utility land uses.
The proposed Kam Lake expansion focuses on undeveloped City-owned land located to the west of the established Kam Lake areas. The subject land is approximately 65 hectares in size.
The Kam Lake Area Development Plan will help guide future subdivisions and development by providing direction on land use, lot layout, road networks, servicing, open space, pedestrian movement, phasing, and other planning considerations.
What we have done so far
To keep residents and stakeholders informed, we’ll post updates regarding the progress of the Plan. See below for announcements and important project developments.
The Phase I Environmental Site Assessment for the Kam Lake development area has been completed to identify potential environmental concerns before development.
