The Men's Shelter offers nightly access to men in Yellowknife.

 Home Base - Youth Emergency Shelter

A safe place for youth aged 15-24 years old.

Yellowknife Women's Society - Women's Shelter

An emergency shelter for women over the age of 19.

YWCA - Allison McAteer 

Family Violence Shelter is a secure and anonymous place for women to receive support while they are fleeing violence. Women from across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut can call us so we can assess your situation and safety planning regardless of where you live.

Housing Services

 Salvation Army - Bailey House

Transitional home for homeless men under governance of the Salvation Army’s Ministry.

Yellowknife Women's Society - Housing First 

Housing First approaches to homelessness provide access to housing as a first intervention, without requiring that individuals maintain sobriety or otherwise demonstrate that they are housing ready.

Home Base - Youth Housing Program

This program is open to youth 16-24 who are in need of a safe space to live.

Home Base - Youth Dorms 

Offers a space for youth ages 12 - 24 to live should they find themselves without safe or appropriate housing elsewhere.

YWCA - Transitional Housing & Housing First 

Staff work with families to acquire housing, make positive changes (such as repaying rental arrears and saving for a damage deposit) and learn new skills such as cooking, literacy, budgeting, etc. After a stay of a year or so, newly-stable families move on to permanent housing in public housing or market rentals.

YWCA - Lynn's Place

Lynn's Place is for women who need safe housing after leaving a violent relationship, or who are ready to find stability in a safe environment.

NWT Housing Corporation 

NWTHC is an agency of the Government of the Northwest Territories offering a wide array of housing programs and options for residents of the NWT. It aims to work in partnership with residents, where appropriate and necessary, to ensure access to affordable, adequate and suitable housing.

Non- Shelter Support

 NWT Disabilities Council - Day Centre and Sobering Centre
The Day Centre is a place for individuals who are experiencing homelessness to access services and have a safe place to be. 

The Sobering Centre is a place for individuals who are intoxicated to sleep off their intoxication.

 Arctic Indigenous Wellness Foundation
Counseling and access to Traditional ceremonies, language, tool making, gatherings, on the land teachings, as well as a breakfast and lunch program.

 Street Outreach 

The aim of the Street Outreach Program is to address the needs of the Yellowknife street-involved population, by providing for basic needs, such as water and snacks.
