2023 Read Indigenous BingoThis year you’re invited to join the Yellowknife Public Library in our Bingo game! Fill out your bingo card as you complete the reading challenges in each square. Each time you read a book by an Indigenous author, write the title in the square. Each book can only count for one square. For each bingo row you complete you will get an entry into the prize draw. This means if you complete a BLACK OUT card you will get 8 entries into the draw! You have until July 17, 2023 to enter your card into the draw.

We invite you to meet one-on-one with a librarian to learn how to download e-books, and Audiobooks from the library's collection onto your e-reader, mobile device, or laptop. You can also learn how to use the library's other great digital resources including Rocket Languages and Freegal Music. To book your session call 867-669-3401 to speak with our public services librarian. Monthly Book ClubJoin us each month to read and discuss the book of the month with fellow local readers. 2023 Read Indigenous FamilyFamilies with children ages 3 to 8 years old are invited to read five books by Indigenous Canadian authors together during the month of June and enter the draw for a chance to win a prize! Please write the five titles on your card and let us know your favorite story and why. Draw will be held July 3, 2023. WAYS TO SUBMIT YOUR CARD

Take Home Escape Room (ages 8-12)Borrow one of our Nahanni themed take home escape rooms and test your wits. Record your time to complete the puzzles and let us know how long it took you, when you return the package for a chance to win a prize!
Tuesday Toddler Time 18-36 monthsLet your toddler explore the world through stories, rhymes, finger plays and songs that reinforce language development and learning. This lively and interactive program offers special one-on-one time for children and their caregivers. Admission is free. Dayhomes are welcome. Wednesday Pre-School Story Time 3 - 5 yearsStory Time is a fun way to introduce your child to the joys of books and learning. Join us for stories, fun, and crafts in the library meeting room. We ask that a parent or caregiver attend with the child. Admission is free. Dayhomes are welcome. Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Library Meeting Room Session 1: January 18 to March 1 Session 2: March 29 to June 21 Thursday Baby Time 0 - 18 months
Join us for a program that introduces you and your baby to the joy of music, rhyme, lap play, and more.
