Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the City of Yellowknife will hold a special meeting of Council at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in the Council Chamber, City Hall. 

The purpose of the meeting is to give First and Second Reading to:

  • By-law No. 5070, a by-law to set the 2023 Municipal Tax Levy; and
  • By-law No. 5071, a by-law to set the 2023 School Tax Levy.

The City of Yellowknife would like to advise the public that effective from Tuesday, May 23 - Friday, September 1, 2023 City Hall will be open to the public from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

A City of Yellowknife fire ban will be in effect starting Friday May 19, 2023 at 12:00 pm (noon) on open air burning fire pits and will remain in effect until further notice.

Due to current conditions the area is experiencing, the Yellowknife Fire Division is implementing a fire ban to reduce the risk of wildland fires within  city limits.

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is ready to welcome residents of Hay River and Kátł’odeeche First Nation who were ordered to evacuate their communities as a result of wildfires.
