On Friday, April 11, 2025, Skills Canada, Northwest Territories, will be hosting a competition at Summit Air on Old Airport Road. Due to the expected number of participants, overflow parking will be directed to the Bristol Pit parking lot, leading to an increase in pedestrian traffic across Old Airport Road between Summit Air and the parking lot.

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the City of Yellowknife will hold a special meeting of Council at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025 in the Council Chamber, City Hall.

The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • adopt Minutes of Council for the regular meeting of Monday, March 24, 2025;
  • approve the expenditures of $15,600 from the Heritage Committee budget to support applications from Black Advocacy Coalition UpNorth and Yellowknife Historical Society; and

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is ramping up preparations for the opening of the Aquatic Centre.  To this end, the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool (RIMP) will be closed to the public as of Monday, April 14, 2025, to enable staff training in the new facility. Please be advised that all aquatic programming will be temporarily paused as of April 14, until further notice.
